Jheri “Coco” Cavitt is a footwear artist and IATSE Local 705 costumer whose work lives at the intersection of design, fashion, and cultural storytelling, transforming sneakers into one-of-a-kind works of wearable art.

With a background in architecture, graphic and web design, and over a decade of creative industry experience, Coco brings a multidisciplinary approach to every project. Her designs blend bold visual concepts with meticulous craftsmanship, creating pieces that celebrate individuality, music culture, and contemporary style.

As a union costumer and stylist with IATSE Local 705, Coco has contributed to numerous commercials, television productions, music videos, and live performances. She has also created custom sneaker designs for television productions including Black-ish and 9-1-1, as well as for Grammy-winning and chart-topping artists such as SZA, Robert Glasper, and Kacey Musgraves, among others.

What began as a personal challenge—creating a custom pair of sneakers for her brother’s birthday—quickly evolved into a thriving creative practice during the early months of the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, Coco’s work has expanded beyond custom commissions into collaborative creative projects and cultural experiences that explore the artistic and cultural impact of sneaker design.

In addition to custom work, Coco leads creative workshops and educational programs that introduce students, teams, and communities to the art and process of sneaker customization. These hands-on experiences combine design thinking, storytelling, and craftsmanship, allowing participants to explore creativity through wearable art.
